At the Constitución Cultural Center in Zapopan, on Wednesday night there was a music lover evening by the DJ and musical curator, César Cosío, who through his conversation “Musical Talks”, evoked several of the most important authors in the world with historical anecdotes and curious facts. This event was possible thanks to the work of Cultura Zapopan.

The public gathered in the Concert Hall of the building, remained attentive and surprised with all the information that the specialist gave them in full command.

César Cosío, opened the talk talking about the musician Bent Fabric, a genius of commercial sounds, because to the surprise of the audience, he was the creator of sound pieces like “Alley Cat”, a song that is well known in Jalisco because it is the one that is he uses to sell ice cream and snow, yes, the popsicle cart reproduces the theme so that children come to buy, but the piece was not designed for it, he created it from the idea that his own cat gave him.

Another of his important creations is “Chicken Feed”, also widely reproduced.

The music lover also talked about Liberace, another great pianist who created pieces like “Twelfth Street Rag” and “Chopsticks”, who got upset with Elvis Presley for wearing gold clothing like his. Speaking of pianists, he also brought up the black musician Scott Joplin with his classic “The Entertainer”, César reminded that this man had a complicated life.

About other pieces that have remained in the collective memory of the world is “Toccata y Fuga” by Johann Sebastian Bach”, which has been related to terror, however it is a melody that made him experience the capacities and dimensions of an organ that they brought to sell him.

The musical curator and DJ, César Cosío, who has more than 45 years of experience, will take his project “Musical Talks” to the Constitution Culture Center in Zapopan this Wednesday, August 23 at 8:00 p.m. at the Concert Hall of the property. This is an event open to the public where the music lover will take a tour of the most relevant moments in the history of music.

In this regard, he talks to EL INFORMADOR to delve into how this idea came about, which began in August, going to talk with the elderly at rest homes and nursing homes.

“There are more than 45 years dedicated to music, as a DJ. And I have always been passionate about the stories behind the songs, which I reflect on my radio shows that I have on weekends on Éxtasis Digital. So, in the month of August, since it is the month of the elderly, I remembered that the last years of my father's life, he spent at his house talking about music, I put on the one he liked and we told stories.

He passed away in February and now César, at the beginning of this month, decides to continue these talks with older adults in different nursing homes and nursing homes. "I got in coordination with the Zapopan Culture Department and they helped me manage visits to many places," where he just spoke to the older adults about the music they knew and heard, "also telling them about the stories that are behind the music, as well as the artists, the composers and the beats, so it became very interesting.”

He confesses that several anecdotes have been generated at these meetings, for example, that a lady told that she was the secretary of the Los Panchos trio, another told that he played the tuba with Cruz Lizárraga and another told that danced with “El Piporro ”. “These are people who are reliving their best moments.”
